Poseidon
The Poseidon technology consists of a network of overhead and underwater cameras to evolve the profession of lifeguarding by combining lifeguards on duty with technology as a back up.
Being a lifeguard is not an easy job. Many factors need to be taken into consideration: Heat, Fatigue, Distraction, Glare, etc.
Premier Aquatics' lifeguards are professionally trained according to the American Red Cross standards. Additionally, our Management policies and field practices provide a superior level of supervision, unmatched by our competition. Even so, an additional set of eyes on the pool is always helpful.
Poseidon; a Computer-Aided Drowning Detection system, aims to evolve the profession of lifeguarding by combining lifeguards on duty with technology as a back up. According to their website; www.poseidonsaveslives.com, the Evolution of Effective Lifeguarding will ultimately bring Training, Supervision and Technology together as the future lifesaving industry standard.
The Poseidon technology consists of a network of overhead and underwater cameras. These cameras are connected to a computer vision system that uses multiple overlapping views to detect motionless swimmers below the surface of the water in swimming pools. An incident is detected within 10 to 15 seconds and the algorithms in the system provide the lifeguards with a precise 3D position of the victim in the water. The end result is heightened safety in swimming pools faster rescues by lifeguards, should an accident occur.
Currently, Poseidon is only company that holds Computer Aided Drowning Detection patents with this type of technology. While the price of the system may be out of the average pool owners’ price range, it is important to note that in the future this system may become available with a more economical price tag.
