Protect Your Pool Cover
Freezing temperatures and snow showers are knocking on our region’s door!
Many property managers and home owners most likely remember the last snow blizzard that hit the Washington DC area in the end of January 2016. The resulted snow accumulation damaged numerous pool covers beyond repair. That not only left all those facilities with safety hazards, but also created significant expenses for replacement and installation.
Here are a few tips to minimize the risk of losing your pricy pool cover:
- Contact your pool professional and make sure that all the pool straps are secured. Often deck anchors and strap springs need replacement after the previous winter season.
- Contact your pool professional to check the water level in the pool. It should not be over 18" under the tile line.
- If the pool cover is old and has holes in it, it is best that it gets replaced before the snow hits. Contact your pool professional for quotes and options.
